El Mantis is a Heavy Psychedelic Jazz band formed in 2021 in Houston Texas by Danny Kamins(Carl,Organ Yank,Etched In The Eye), Andrew Martinez(Ak’ Chamel), Angel Garcia(Laktating Yak), Jeremy Nuncio, and Mark Medina.
Ogonosu is a project from Denton resident Taylor Collins that explores the point at which sound and visuals begin to merge, and the ways we communicate thoughts and feelings as a part of our human experience. Taylor uses a blend of synthesizers, piano, and photography to chronicle their journey within and without.
A first time trio of Stefan González, Ellie Alonzo, and Chelsey Danielle:
Stefan González (Denton, TX) drummer, vibraphonist, percussionist, and vocalist originally from Dallas. They are best known for playing in their family free jazz trio, Yells at Eels, with their late father, the world renowned trumpeter, Dennis Gonzalez, and their brother Aaron Gonzalez on bass. They also perform in their long running industrial solo project turned duo, Orgullo Primitivo, international supergroup The Young Mothers, and North Texas avant-garde jazz Trio Glossía.
Ellie Alonzo (Denton, TX) is constantly immersed in the music and art scene in her community. The drummer for spooky psychedelic rock band Sunbuzzed, you can also frequently find her behind the camera photographing a multitude of shows and events. She is devoted to capturing the beauty she sees around her through both music and photography.
Chelsey Danielle (Denton, TX) is an award winning musician that performs as a one woman band, keyboardist in Pearl Earl, drummer/vocalist in Helium Queens, and drummer in The Poppy Xander Chamber Orchestra. She has toured nationally and internationally as a soloist and with different bands. She has performed at multiple music festivals such as SXSW, Fortress Festival, Levitation, and Deep Ellum Arts Festival. In 2019, her EP “All of Me” and marimba arrangement of “My Heart Will Go On” gained publicity from The Dallas Observer and Central Track.
